Vintage Mid-Century style bamboo-woven Ceramic Clay Vase, Beautiful!

Vintage mid-century style bamboo-woven vase, often referred to as a bamboo basketry over porcelain or bamboo-clad ceramic vessel. While it looks like a solid wooden or spun bamboo vase from the outside, it is actually a ceramic structure wrapped in finely split, woven bamboo strands. This traditional handicraft style—most notably produced as a mid-century Chinese export art or Japanese design—uses a glazed porcelain or earthenware core to ensure it remains completely watertight. The tightly wrapped bamboo exterior is then finished with alternating stained rings, giving it that beautiful orange, honey, and dark brown striped gradient.Similar mid-century bamboo-over-ceramic designs and spun bamboo.
